Crossing over differences in reciprocal crosses with T5‑9a.
As reported in the 1950 News Letter, plants
heterozygous for T5‑9a show a much higher recombination value when used
as the ♂ than when used as the ♀ parent. Progeny
from these crosses were grown and similar differences were found in reciprocal
crosses, regardless of whether the plants tested were from the cross giving
high or low crossover values.
