6. "Tassel‑like ear" and ramosa.

Eyster's "tassel‑like ear" (Maize News Letters 23 and 24) appears to be identical with ra₁. The F₁ between the two stocks has the typical ramosa ear and tassel.

A small quantity of seed of a ramosa stock carrying V_g (vestigial glume) is available. We are using this stock to facilitate study of the developmental morphology of the ramosa ear and tassel.
