3. Complex allelic interaction.

 

Preliminary studies further indicate the peculiar properties of the rch-V10 mutant. In the cross Rr-Tomi/rg x rg/rch-V10 it was noted that the compounds (Rr-Tomi/rch-V10) exhibited a broader, more intense pigmentation when compared to the other segregates. Thus, some tissues not colored by either homozygote are found pigmented in their compound. This suggests a new type of allelic interaction not previously encountered at this locus.
