2. Dominant White Cap (Wc) appears to be in chromosome 1 based on the linkage observed with interchange 1-9c and the lack of linkage with 9-10a. Also there was no linkage with wx (using pollen classification for wx). Date with 1-9c (1942 and 1943): Wc = 80 semisteriles + 28 normals; yellow cap = 47 semisteriles + 74 normals or about 33% recombination. Dr. Hayes' earlier tests with bm2 were negative, while with gs there was loose but significant linkage (P = .05 - .02). Such a linkage value would indicate Wc might be near br.
