1. Lg3 (dominant liguless) is in chromosome 3 as shown by the following summary of data from six small cultures:

A greater portion of the ligule is present in Lg3 plants than in either lg1 or lg2 plants. But for the characteristic "liguless" appearance of the plant as a whole the character might more appropriately be called "defective ligule". Classification (except for seedlings), viability, and fertility (except perhaps for homozygotes) are satisfactory.
A test for allelism with lg2 and three-point tests are being made.
