2. A tall late type of plant with about 50 per cent more nodes than the normal was discovered among the plants from an F2 selfed ear from the Krug variety. Plants of this type were crossed with several normal stocks in 1936 and the F1 progenies were grown in 1937. All of the F1 plants were normal. A similar type was found in 1936 among the plants from another F2 selfed ear from the Krug variety.
