2. A tall late type of plant with about 50 per cent more nodes than the normal was discovered among the plants from an F₂ selfed ear from the Krug variety. Plants of this type were crossed with several normal stocks in 1936 and the F₁ progenies were grown in 1937. All of the F₁ plants were normal. A similar type was found in 1936 among the plants from another F₂ selfed ear from the Krug variety.
