6. A viviparous seed-white seedling combination appeared in an F₂ population. The development of the character varies. Sometimes the seeds germinate on the ear. If they do not, the seeds have a pale yellow endosperm in contrast to the normal yellow seeds of this strain. Pale yellow seeds always produce white seedlings. Orange seeds produce only normal green seedlings.
